Adventure is life and simplicity is key. The barefoot feel is everything right, but up until now the options have been to wear bulky foot protection or deal with the cuts.
Wearing regular surf socks or booties, I just couldn’t feel the board or grip with my toes while kitesurfing so I had to endure cold injured feet for too many years. One day I sliced my foot on some oyster shells which required 6 stitches and waaaay too much time off the water waiting to heal 😤

As with any sport, Kiteboarding has been as much about the community as it has been about doing the actual sport. This includes literally standing around on the beach talking about it for hours, waiting for the wind, drinking beers, or sitting in vehicles driving for waaay too many hours! Although hugely male-dominated, it's awesome to see more females joining the community.
